Chloé Challenges Societal Expectations on Parenthood

Chlöe Bailey is taking her time when it comes to starting a family, despite her sister Halle Bailey recently embracing motherhood with the birth of her son, Halo, in 2023. In a digital cover story for HelloBeautiful released on August 7, Chlöe discussed the pressures of societal expectations regarding settling down and having children. “I just turned 26, and sometimes they’re like, ‘You have to settle down and have kids,’” she remarked. However, she feels content enjoying her role as an aunt, saying, “I have the best nephew in the world, and it’s like I get the best of both worlds.”

Chlöe also emphasized her focus on self-acceptance and emotional discipline, stating, “I want to be more at peace and more disciplined with my emotions.” She expressed that this year has been a significant period of personal growth for her.

In the same interview, Chlöe shared insights about her upcoming album, Trouble in Paradise, set to release on August 9. She described the creative process of working on the project in St. Lucia, saying, “It was able to open up my creative mind and my creative spirit to literally write my troubles away in paradise.” The album captures the essence of a summer romance, reflecting its highs and lows. It features collaborations with artists like Ty Dolla $ign, YG Marley, Halle, Jeremih, and Anderson .Paak, along with pre-release singles “FYS” and “Boy Bye.”
