Eminem “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” First Week Sales Projections

mmDetroit rapper Eminem’s eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was released yesterday (November 5) and already sales predictions for Em’s latest project are beginning to surface.

According to Billboard.com, the album could possibly sell between 700,000 and 750,000 units in its first week and in the process will likely secure the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Additionally, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 could possibly find itself in a similar position as Eminem’s last album, Recovery. Released in June 2010, Recovery sold 741,000 copies in its first week.

If sales projections are correct, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will not surpass record-breaking first week sales set by crooner Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience. Released in March of this year, The 20/20 Experience sold over 900,000 copies in its first week, a total well above the predicted 800,000 units.

Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will instead secure the spot for the album with the second best first week sales this year.
