Kenny Lattimore’s tenth studio album, Here To Stay, engraves his name in the books as a definitive force in adult contemporary R&B.
Throughout this 10-song set, Lattimore’s tender balladry is a strong showcase that one can fall in love again following a significant gap in time.
Evidence of rediscovering romance is heard amongst the first two songs, mainly “Never Knew,” where he tells a tale of giving up on love before coming across his new someone.
On the slow and steady “All In,” he devotes himself wholeheartedly to his woman.
Lattimore shifts the tempo and message for a second on “What Are You Waiting For?” an anthem meant to uplift and encourage those feeling down about life.
Other Here To Stay tracks include “Lose You” and “Pressure,” all of which were released ahead of the album.
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage,” wrote Lattimore in regards to Here To Stay. “I hope my new project inspires you to love deeply.”
Whether Lattimore means he’s Here To Stay in the music industry or his relationship, this new album values his commitment to see that promise to the very end.
Here To Stay follows Lattimore’s 2017 LP, Vulnerable, which debuted at No. 21 on the Billboard Independent R&B Albums chart. The LP featured the top 10 R&B single “Stay on Your Mind.”
